When burning Rice at a high input rate the fire goes a little duller due to air not getting through the bed. I got a few tons of Buck to try the experiment but it got frozen in due to my stupidity. Due to this cr appy weather I tried the Feed 10 on the stove as an experiment. Many thx to THE illuminatus for ideas on this. Many variables here but first experiment is interesting. Apologies for the c rappy resolution but no budgets for a new camera as I am saving up for a chandelier.

Simon's toaster oven heats a house 2x the size of yours. I'd say he is doing pretty well with it.freetown fred wrote: ↑Thu. Apr. 19, 2018 5:15 pmDamn Simon, that looks like a lil toaster oven compared to my HITZER!!! LOL
Buck is a great option for some stokers, but not all of them can handle it.

Piling on the coal to see what will happen. Max=25 now way past rice maximums and still working good and I like what I see. No burned coal off the end yet. Perhaps I will turn off one stoker so I don't die of heat stroke. I am suspecting the AK180 runs better on Buck.
Does anybody have any experience with Harman DVCs, Keystoker 90s and Poconos using Buck? If the cold weather persists next step is Max=30. Ash looks clean no unburnt coal, no fusing like with rice. I will upload pics of the ash too - damn, should have kept some ash photos of the rice ash for comparison. Hmm, so will Sunny work with buck? When I buy 23 tons it cost $150 a ton. Partial loads of Buck and Nut - $240 a ton. If I could inventory one type of coal, I could save a lot of money. Perhaps if I relit Sunny with nut and once going change to Buck. If this weather is determined to torture me I might as well try some new stuff.
Hey where is my best and cheapest source of Buck any inputs anyone? Is it cheaper?

Call Lehigh for current pricing. I heard they have plenty of buck and it is priced to move.
Buck should burn alright in your Keystoker, but I am not sure about the DVC.
You will have to try it for yourself in the hand fed. Everyone else will just tell you it won't work.

Just buy a full load of each size coal...
Get good pricing & have plenty of fuel on hand...
Pick the proper size coal for each stove.
No worry,no fuss..

Great idea windy, can you lend me some money. I could also use your help building a new coal shed or two. However, if HO keeps going up I may sell my body into the night and get the money for that solution.
