Has anyone else having to mess with their draft settings on an almost daily basis this year? I am into my 4th year running this stove. i have a manometer constantly hooked up. It is a direct vent stove. One day its where it should be at .04, next day its at .01, then .07, its very erratic. the last 4 years ive set it once when i fired it up and never touched it again for the season. The only change in the stove is that i changed all the gaskets at the end of last season.

Im not too concerned about it, the stove has been running awesome this year, better than when it was brand new. Just makes me curious when i have to mess with the draft lever every day. It just seems to choke down a little bit when its not at the recommended .04-.05.

What actually happens when you leave the draft higher or lower than the recommended setting for extended periods of time?

Recheck your gaskets? I just talked to Alaska Stoves about the Gnome last week and they mentioned if gaskets are slightly off that the draft would be off and possibly result in hopper fire soon. Just thought I'd pass that along.

Rather than start a new thread ill revive this one :P

This year my stove has been running for a couple weeks it started out good but the other night my draft spiked to a .1 and stayed there. I shut it down, cleaned the crap out of everything again, made sure the gaskets I can get to were seated properly and weren't leaking. Fired it back up tonight and at a full burn, the thing is at .07 the DV adjustment is wide open if you move it slightly in either direction the draft goes even higher.

I'm at a loss with this thing, I don't want a hopper fire, lol. I'm going to call the store I bought it from tomorrow to see if they can come down to give me any insight or just fix the damn thing. Could one of the blowers be getting weak? its in its 5th season.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks
