Another suggestion....Its not a good idea to guess when it comes to sizing ductwork, either supply or return. There are plenty of charts online that helps you size ductwork to make sure you're not restricting in any way. Search "Duct sizing" turns up a lot of information. The CFM rating of the stove/furnace will help you determine the size of duct/ducts for best performance. Its all based on maximum CFM and total square inches of supply and return. (2) 8" returns gives you a total of about 100 sq inches of cold air return. Is that enough for the cfm rating of the blower? Looking at the specs of your furnace, it has a 1000 cfm blower, (2) 8" returns is only half of what is recommended....To help calculate square inches of a round duct, Pie x radius square....3.14 x (4x4) = 50.24 sq in....
