How do you oil the blower that distributes the heat. I blew the dust out of the part where you see the copper windings. Any help or pictures appreciated.

Don't over oil... Just 2 or 3 drops per year using 20W.Channing111 wrote: ↑Tue. Dec. 17, 2019 11:00 pmHow do you oil the blower that distributes the heat. I blew the dust out of the part where you see the copper windings. Any help or pictures appreciated.
Cleaning the fan blades also helps airflow. Dirty blades can reduce airflow by half.

Ok , i was looking at the right holes then , just didnt appear to be oil holes lol.. You say 20W oil, so not 3 in 1 oil ? Like a 20-50 engine oil? Do I need to remove the blower to drop a few drops in or just do it with it mounted to stove ? Also thanks for the help and picture , I appreciate it.
2 days in a row I had my breaker trip for my living room that my Channing iii is on and I knew it had be soemthing related to the stove cause nothing else was on besides 1 small string Christmas lights so I pulled all the coal to make sure the feed block wasnt jammed or anything and it wasn't so I felt the blower motor that moves the heat and it was pretty warm to where I couldnt hold onto it so I looked into the motor part of the heat distribution blower and it had collected with dust so I blew it out well and it's been running fine since and hasnt tripped the breaker. Seems be running much cooler to. My stove is on its 5th winter.
I figured out how to oil the combustion blower motor and its pretty simple, I've done that twice. We love this stove. Best investment I've made.

If you can't find the Zoom oiler, the blue bottle 3 in 1 is specifically made for electric motors

If you can reach the oiling ports, you can oil it while it's installed. That's what makes that Zoom oiler nice. It's got a spout that extends out allowing you to get into tight spots if needed. Sometimes need to remove the motor to get to the inside port with normal oilers.

Well I dont know anywhere local that sells the zoom spout oiler near mifflinburg PA. I have the blue bottle of 3 in 1 oil already. So I went to local hardware store and bought 1/8 " clear hose to use. 3 in 1 oil actually has a hose spout that extends 6 " but in the reg 3in1 . So I'll just use the small hose I have.
The way these blowers mount the oil port holes are at a slight slant , so will the drops go where the need to or no ?
Is it correct that only 2 bolts hold this fan on ? Its appears that's all that hold it on so that would be easy to take off but I dont want mess that gasket up either.

A slight slant might be ok for now... I am not familiar with your stove but since this motor has not been oiled in 5 years or so, I'd plan to remove it for oiling and also cleaning the fan blades come spring...

Ok. I was able to use the 12 inch piece 1/8" hose I got last night and attach it to the 3 in 1 bottle and drop few drops into oil ports. I was able to see that the oil ports have channels that actually channel the oil to the correct location.
Also the blades are clean. I only have to pull the screen to clean them and I've done that at least 3 or 4 times.

Nice, I’ve replaced a couple motors on my stove, I‘ve been taking the motors out of the stove at the end of the heating season and cleaning and oiling them, I put them in a dry place for the humid summer. Getting ready to heat I make sure they work and reinstall, they work great and as quiet as possible
