The stove doesn't really need to be "made for" outside air, one can easily install a fresh air intake to the vicinity of the stove.

Outside end of pipe covered with screen, somewhere in the system have a dryer vent installed backwards, so the air can open the flap as needed by how much demand.Inside end of pipe should be as close to the stove as possible & preferably have the pipe come up thru the floor at the rear of the stove.

Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: keystoker 90 dv

Post by xmanjeff » Tue. Dec. 26, 2017 2:42 pm

will this be setup in basement or living area?
I put in a keystoker 90 direct vent 2 years ago and couldn't be happier other than more hopper capacity would be nice and more heat capacity on extremely cold days which we haven't really had in the last 2 years
direct vent is nice for heating on days that it is in the 50s and you have marginal draft out of chimney
I don't think noise will be an issue given the fact that my keystoker doesn't make any more noise than my buddies pellet stove
just my 2 cents

Again the inverted dryer outlet is not my favorite as a good vacuum has to be created before the hole is equal the inlet size on the stove. This works best for me. Hole 3' off the ground and pvc external pipe bending down so it does not get blocked with snow. Open a little in the shoulder months and full open now.... fine mesh to keep out summer spiders. Of course, close it then anyway.

Maybe in Europe they make some w/ OA features.

Never looked or seen any hand-fired's here.
Isn't there a double or triple walled stove pipe that channels in OA???
