Kestoker that shuts off then restarts
Have a keystoker coal stove that is about 25 years old. At times the heat output is pretty good and other times it's poor. I've removed and cleaned the grates and the area under the grates. Cleaned all the holes in the grates and then resealed the grates. What appears to be happening is the feed motor shuts off even thou the thermostat is calling for heat. The feed motor will stay off for up to 20 min sometimes.

Yeah check out the fan safety switch. Make sure the probe is clean it is functioning properly. It will shut the burner down at a set temperature.

There is a flume switch, that senses over temperature in the flue pipes. I do not know if they auto reset or not. My Keystoker 90 has a 4 inch square junction box in series with the feed motor, and the sensor is inside the box, but mine has never tripped.

In looking at the Keystoker manual for a 90/105, the symptom points to either the convection fan being dirty and not blowing enough to cool stove (clean screen and fan fins) or something wrong with the fan switch. Particularly the high limit of the fan switch. Since your stoker turns back on after a cool down period, I'm betting the convection fan needs a good cleaning.

The cupped blades on a squirrel cage fan can fill up with dust and hair and you'll lose well over half the flow. Toothbush or something similar to tidy up.

No, the one that feeds the grates is the combustion fan. I am referring to the one that blows hot air into the room. Per Keystoker, it being dirty can cause your symptoms by not cooling the stove off like it should (causing it to shut down the stoker by tripping the high limit then turning it back on after it cools). Clean all dust/hair out of the squirrel cage fan.
