Rob the place is tight. Old house stripped bare and rebuilt. And I used metal roofing for siding. No drafts anywhere. All new windows and doors.

If you have the draft dialed in and it has the right amount of ash at the end of the grate on long burns, there is not much else you can do.
How warm is the basement compared to the upstairs?

The measurement just over the fire. The manometer reading with the metal tube paced in the combustion chamber. Some manufacturers have a hole in the door (or just above it) to check the draft there. If it's too high, heat might not be staying in the stove long enough to transfer to the living space and just blowing up the chimney. There's plenty of manometer reading material on coalpail.

what should I set the barro at. I just got a trailer load of bagged Lehigh and had to turn the feed down a little. I have some bagged Lehigh rice and nut available.

Per Keystoker, the over fire draft should not go lower than -.02 or higher than -.03. Adjust the baro to get those numbers using a draft gauge. I set mine on a calm day when it's about 20 degrees out and shoot for just over -.02. I try for -.0225 after it has been running for 30+ minutes
