i have now added an Alaska Knome 40 to my collection of stoves, i still have the old cylinder stove in my cabin but i added this to my house to keep the furnace coast down, so far i like it a lot, only negitive thing is the fan blower does make quiet a bit of noise when turned down to low speed. only thing i have yet to do is adjust the draft setting but it does seem to work perfect. anyone have this stove and any input.

i have a 31 year old alaska in storage, i used it from 2006 to this spring.
great stove! my only complaint too is the noisy motors....i have replaced all my motors except the little computer fan motor that cools the stoker.

good luck with the smaller stove! i have a 30,000 btu triburner out in my workshop that i picked up super cheap. one of these days i will get around to getting it hooked up.
