So last nite i woke up about 1AM... was a bit chilly...62* in house.... so i opened up back vent to 7 on dial... sat there for 2 hours... till stove temp stabilized at about 350>375*, stack temp about 175>200* MPD wide open, turned blower on, with dial a temp variable resistor to half speed, waited another half hour.. stove stayed at 225>250* temp said good enough went to bed.
This stove can make heat... but still learning it. Plus as Freetown Fred says.. find, search, and find all drafts an seal them up. Been working on that for a few weeks, but last cold spell made them obvious. So sealing i do everyday pretty much.

Working on setting up blower to run of thermostat. will post pics.. when i think its set up correctly.

Yep, 20 yrs ago--my 1st winter in this 250 yr old farm house--I spent much time walkin around with a BIC lighter & a caulk gun!!! Things are much better now but these old post & beam structures are tough to tighten up.
