I'll take that back, Ventor and combustion B and W wires are tied together and run continuously. Gear motor runs when timer switches are activated. (R-W) wires. No connections with the limit switches except for a common. Wiring as per diagram and like I said it has opperated like that for 2 winters. BUT...

That is NOT matching the factory wiring...yes it worked for 2 winters...but, lucky you are both alive and still have a standing home.
Better correct it ASAP.

Woah, Yes purchased new. My diagram is a bit different, diagram on pg. 21 on mine, also have a ventor on mine.
Following both diagrams, wiring is identical however your pictorial layout is different, but wires and colors match up as to where they are going.
My diagram is attached.

BTW, I just installed a new thermostat and re-started. Burned hot for 1/2-45 min at 575 on front, convection cooled bonnet down. Convection turned off and bonnet now reads 225 and is going into idle mode. Will be watching it for some time!

Direct vent is a different animal...wondered what the h3ll a "ventor" was.
I'm not your guy..."ventors" are not for your average coal burner.
Wish ya Luck

Thermostat is only for calling for heat. has nothing to do with idle mode. you can disconnect your thermostat and the stove should still continuously run on Idle if set correctly.
IDLE is control by your timer box and feed screw. once the thermostat is satisfied, the stoker turns off and it should only come on/off from the timer box and only feed where you pins are set.

UPDATE ***
My thanks to; Hyfire1, McGiever, Don and Brian @ Keystoker, Paul at Agel Coal (now using Reading coal-hard anthracite - HOT, dusty and ashy) for their time and patience...
I am at a point of sitting and waiting for a cold front to move in to see what the 160 will do. As of right now we are good, off to a 3rd. winter!
Tested; Thermostat and wire - Should the wire had become pinched or the relay in the thermostat stuck closed the gear motor would be on continuous run, relay in RA89A closes and opens with thermo, contacts clean. all good.
adjustments made; Fan limit - 100, 160, 220 - from 165,200,240
stoker screw - 6 turns CCW - from 4
Timer pins - 2 X 3 - from 4
Used; 10 self made "Rats"(definite fire starters, first time every time), #15 wasted coal, well maybe not!
