looking into a second burner for our 140 its currently got a paddle style on it

found a channing III with a slide burner for a good price

and the slide burner be used in the 140 or are they physically difference sizes
I don't care about having to run two controllers

this is the style of burner on the channing III parts stove

Alaska Stove - Cast Console III - Not Burning Hot

the 140 is a the newer style paddle feed which i can't find a picture of atm
my biggest concern is physical fitment

AFAIK the slide (or carpet-type) burner was used in the Channing II, and was rated at 70k btu/hr, while the paddle-type burners were used in the Channing III and were rated at 85k btu/hr. If somebody managed to mount a carpet-type burner in a Channing III without otherwise changing anything, the odds look decent for what you propose. Also AFAIK the 140 was so named because the original ones had two of the 70k burners (i.e., 2x70 = 140). However, none of this ensures that your plan will actually work.
