- Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: Alaska stoker 2
i have an alaska stoker 2. right now its vented into a stainless chimney on the outside of the house.it works great in the middle of winter when its really cold out but in the warmer months it doesnt get enough draft. i was thinking about moving to a power vent so i could be burner in the late fall and early spring when its upper 40s low 50s. would this make sense? how do they work, you just set the rheostat for fan speed and barometric damper to get the right draft? and also how do you know which one to get. i see them online and look like the same thing thats sold at the stove store but they say they are only for oil or gas.

Here's an alternative:
Works with what you already have in place. It a "draft booster".

BTW: The "Power Vent" you mentioned is same as a oil version, there is not one may specifically for coal, it is just borrowed for coal use. Oil uses it intermittently but for coal use it has to run 24/7 and that takes a toil on it.
