Scott ~ You might seriously consider a good CO detector.I would hope everyone has that protection as it should go hand in hand with every stove or boiler. Buy a good one as it is cheap protection. Regards, Mike

Mike,
I have several actually. Wouldn't be without them. I'm an electrician and when I bought my house, I hard wired all the smokes and combo smoke/CO2 detectors. With two little ones running around the house I don't take anything for granted. We even had a lesson with the kids about how hot the stove gets and not to play around it.

No one picked up on the hearth. I am building a hearth extension to put in front of the stove.
