You are not alone, my tenant dropped a flashlight into my Keystoker hopper kid and stripped the cam. I gave him instructions - keep the hopper lid on and the next time you pay for it.

Seems like all is well again. The coal bed is even across the burn plate. Before I buttoned it back up I checked the grates, everything was well sealed where it should be. Is it still too far back? Not sure but it's where it's always been.
Thx again for the great support

Last update:
I decided to remove and reseal the two burn plates after all. The idea that air was fueling the fire to far back stuck with me and after very close inspection, found the adhesive had crumbled out of the rear area and the rear center area between the two plates.
It appears the proper amount by of air is making its way thru the grates in the right places and the fire is nicely distributed and centered up on the plates.
Once again the team came thru! Thank you all and Happy New Year!
