I burn about a 5 gallon bucket of coal in a 24 hour period. That is 30 to 40 pounds of blashak in my D&S 1500 in a 1950+ sq ft home. It is in the unfinished basement.
How much oil do you burn to supplement the coal stove ?

Cold January 43Lbs. per day, February to date 38Lbs per day. Heating 1100 sq ft at 69, and another 800 sq ft at low 70's. The Garage also gets some every nite into the low 60's 1 car garage attached.

I am surprised January was that low.

It cut my fuel oil bill in half or better some winters. This winter it has been pretty cold. I went thru one tank of fuel and filled it half way back up. It is reading just above 3/8 of a tank now.
