is more combustion air always better as long as you keep a neg. draft? keystoker boiler kaa-2

yes and no. It may give you a little better burn, If you have too much, it will run hotter and possibly cause clinkers. I put a different combustion blower on my Hyfire I had laying around when my other one burned up. It burned way hotter and fused together and caused clinkers to form. Plus it burn up the coal faster and would burn back towards the hopper, which I didn't like either. I ordered the right blower with the correct CFM and it runs much better. If you can get it adjusted properly, it may work fine.
