Alaska Channing III Coal Feed Question
A little colder in the house this morning then I thought it would be. I Had set the coal control feed knob to just shy of 3 last night. I went to investigate why the house was chilly this morning and the coal fire looked like it would look, if it had been set on 2 not 3 where I had set it. So I cranked it up to 4 1/2, and now I see a fire that I would normally see if it was set on position 3. So long story short, the coal feeder is not feeding coal in the corresponding amount I am use to. I have had the stove for 6 years, and am familiar of how the fire would look for where I have the dial set. Anyone have an idea of what might be wrong, and what I should look for. Thanks.

Assuming you;'ve cleaned everything after each season.
If you have a control box that has Reohstats/dials, sometimes they go bad over time being the same spot, sometimes rotating them back and forth and then put them in the proper position.
Not sure if you have any type of adjustment feed screw, maybe loose or need adjusted.
Hows your draft, ?
combustion blower clean?

Pull combustion blower and clean under grate
Make sure all holes in grate are clear
Make sure no restriction in hopper
Grate gaskets been changed ?
Is this a paddle feed?
If left set to 4\12 for 30 minutes will the grate fill with fire with about 1 inch of ash at the bottom?
