Hello all,
I am wondering if the fine folks at Leisure Line Stove Company sell an inline duct fan 12 inch in diameter to suck the most heat off the Pocono back vent that I have. I am only using the 2 blowers that came with it and I much rather get the heat upstairs instead of in my basement since not all of the heat is blown up and around the house.
I looked on the LL website but couldn't find it. Maybe I just missed it. I prefer to support the LL company since the owners are such cool people.
Thank you

Google Fantech fans. They're expensive but they are first rate.....

I have a few Fantechs and find the quality is not so good. My 4" and 6" have started to wobble badly and are now really noisy. They could sell you the fan they use in another 110K stove the AK110 that I have owned for a few years. That is about 1750CFM and I have had no quality issues but it is just a good shaded pole motor nothing super special. I am not sure if you could mount that one properly. I own a Pocono and within it's class it's a really nice stove. Eight years old and running like a trooper today, although that is not very old.

What's the amperage draw on that?coalnewbie wrote:I have a few Fantechs and find the quality is not so good. It's linked into the AnthraKing AK180 so lightning as much as I love you, I aint pulling it out to measure. My guess is under 4A. Hey Dave, stop gazing at your karate trophies and chip in here. What's the amperage draw on that?

I know but it is all hidden inside the intake box and I am just to lazy to unrivet one side. It is a really nice smooth operator.

I'd like to go bigger CFM so I could dedicate heat runs upstairs. Currently using twin 550's that draw 5.2 amps between the two, I believe. One of those 1750's would be awesome.

and you would be right. I have modified my AK 180 stove so the fan (the same as the AK110) runs flat out all the time, I believe that it is happier that way. All this can be easily adapted to a Pocono. Remember that your inlet ports (2) may not really be big enough for this fan but it should run just fine. There are many posts on shrouds for a Hyfire but that is more complex. That system may scoop up more heat but any heat that is left with my system just warms the basement so you don't really lose any efficiency. One of those 1750's would be awesome.

I do have a hot air jacket on my Pocono I think the 1750 cfm might be the way to go. I would let it go all the time during the heating season. So Leisure Line might have one to sell?coalnewbie wrote:and you would be right. just check the temp ratings for the fans, if they are pulling the heat, make sure they can handle the temperatures. some are only good to 120-140 and sometimes it can get hotter than that in the duct.
I added a homemade jacket to my HyFire with a separate 500CFM fan ducted to both sizes on the bottom to wash the stove with a temperature switch on the jacket, the 2 built in fans run off the coaltrol.

Yes WNY, that is why I push the air. I am convinced the fans last longer that way.

To preserve your fire insurance, be certain you have an automatic fire damper wherever you pass trough a floor. They are requred by national fire code with the exception of a furnace which automatically cuts off at 165F.
