Hot Air Coal Stoker Furnace: Reading Juanita
Coal Size/Type: Rice

Post by Carbondale » Tue. Nov. 25, 2014 10:29 pm

I am looking to have back up motors for my Reading Junita. Does anyone know where I can get spare motors economically? I am thinking getting them from Reading may not be the cheapest route. Anyone know of a cross reference for the parts and source?

Thanks
Pat

Find the brand name of the motor, and throw it in Google. :)

For example, my stoker uses many parts off an Alaska. My stoker motor was built by Multi-Products. I found the company website, ordered directly, and saved over 50% than buying it thru Alaska Stove!

As they say, it pays to shop around.

You will need to know the rpm for getting the correct feed motor.

Here is what I found for the blowers on my Reading Junita

Combustion motor is FASCO NO. 70212366 Type U21 115V 60Hz .59A 3200RPM Model B30
This is Fasco blower assembly B30, cost $72.63
Located on the following web page:
http://www.electricmotorwarehouse.com/fasco/fasco_blower.htm

Convection motor is A O Smith Mod JE2J047NS 3.2/3.2A 1450/1200 RPM CONT. A.O 7.5MFD 370VAC 1/5HP (760CFM)
The suggested replacement for this blower is Century # 9459, cost $271.17

This is not list on electric motor warehouse website, you would need to call to order this blower, in stock.

The feed motor is Gleason Avery model (R01)2512-A05561-1243 only available through Reading or Gleason Avery. This is a
special order motor made for Reading. It is a smaller footprint than than a "normal" feed motor. Cost $144 with shipping. Lead time is about a week. Phone is (315) 253-7396

If anyone knows of cheaper sources, I'm all ears.

Anyone with *new* updates? My squirrel cage convection motor is starting to sound like a squirrel is running around in it.

Make sure you keep the motors oiled, it will extend the life of them.
You can find replacement motors online, ElectricMotorWarehouse, Amazon, Ebay, many other sites probably carry certain ones also. Normally just search Google for the Mfr and Model number(s). pricing can vary a lot.

I needed a direct vent blower for my Keystoker, dealer wanted close to $200, some other sites wanted $175, found it at a supply house for $100. definately shop around if you know the specs.
