Woke up this morning at 6:45 and the house was cool. We were on oil as a backup. I pulled the plug on the stove last week and thought it would be OK. We had oil backup so what they heck. How much could we burn 4-5 gallons till it's hot outside?

This morning I woke up to the sound of the oil boiler running and running and running.

IT"S 34 DEGREES!!!! I planted my potatoes, I have been planning my garden, the grass is growing, the hedge is greening up, the geese returned, the robins are back, but the best indicator of spring is the Ashland Pa police department is writing parking tickets again. It's warm enough for them to walk the streets now. Why do I have my coal stove running again!!!

Why is it 34? Who is not prayed up around here??

I went and got our camper out of storage two days ago the ground was mostly bare and now there are 2 inches of fresh snow on the ground I was reading yesterday that it has been over 6 months since we've hit the 70° mark and there is no significant warm up in the near future

May 28,2013 we had the temp drop to 22*,that cut our strawberry yield to about a third of normal,even tho we had fans blowing air past 4 burn barrels to try keeping the frost/freeze away. We are hoping this year will not be a repeat of that. 34* & windy this a/m

Breezy, beautiful and 38 degrees here this a.m. The boiler is in the mothballing process and I shouldn't want to reverse that so the wood stove must carry the load .I have already lost my early crop veggies to the frost and am glad I did not replant yet.I like a gradual change of season but we are starting to run a bit late for that.I enjoy every day but do not want to see it go from the high of the sixtys one week to a high of the upper eighties the next.Nature isn't upposed to work like that.Buy your coal for next year now. 28 this morning after a warm afternoon yesterday. Wife left the kitchen window open and I wake to the sound of the EFM stoking away. I still have a couple inches of snow on the north side of the yard.

This weather is crazy. I saw the forecast on Sunday for the week Monday was supposed to be the nicest day. So I contacted all the workers and gave them a needed extra day off ( yes paid before someone asked ) . I took the jetski to the lake 48* water temp brrrr but with a wetsuit not too bad. Put 1.5 hrs on. Now the past 2 days brrr it was a good decision to play hooky on Monday. I can't wait till summer already.

I am soooooo glad I put in a stoker boiler this year!

The forcast here is for about 60 for a high every day next week and about 40 for a low and rain! Looks like I will be run'in the Yellow Flame for at least another week.
I'm actualy glad it's still cold. More time to play with my boiler!

Last time I got a paid day off, I added some sofet vents to my roof .... hit a 2by12, saw came down and chopped my thumb off. Had it re-attached (aint top of the pops ~ to be expected)...I blamed my boss

It's 44 degrees here right now, and its heading down to 34 degrees tonight (AccuWeather), or 33 degrees (Weather Channel) . I know this cold weather has got to end sometime.
