My house really overshot the mark, It was set on 71 all day yesterday and last night, and the boiler was running wide open to keep up with the wind. Then the wind totally stopped and all that heated iron/wood is still HOT from the long run yesterday. 75 degrees on the first floor this morning. 9 degrees outside.

nice to feel warm when its so cold outside ,boiler running good, but Draft at .04 until it calls for coal then slowly go's up to .09 and when the feed turns off slowly down to .04 ,I even added a washer to my brno to keep the draft open a little more when it feeds ,hasn't lower the draft any .Draft should be .04 to .07 tops right ?

Remarkable performance ,when you consider a 2500 sq. ft. house ,17 degrees this morning, a slight breeze and the rooms at thermostat set point of 71 degrees. Yes it used more coal than usual but the ash bucket was still not completely filled. So it takes good fuel plus a well thought out boiler design to achieve these kind of results when it matters most. When I went down to it this morning the little boiler was satisfied and at idle with both loops continuing to pump away. Can't say anything but good things. Mike

13 here yesterday morning, but 23 this morning. The wind has been wicked! The AA has legs & loves to run, but it'll take much colder than this before it gets above a jog.
Whenever it gets cold I know where to find the cat! If the stove is on the cat is almost leaning up against it. Sometimes his fur gets so hot I don't understand why he doesn't burst into flames.

Yeah they're funny like that! My black cat lays in the sun on the porch in the summer on a 95° day for HOURS. I have to physically pick him up to get him to come inside for the night! Loves the heat.
Kitties are a bit disappointed with our new heating arrangement now. The Mark III is ice cold, and the stoker boiler doesn't give off half the heat the Mark III did.
Inga used to love laying right in the coal ....
