Off and Running in the Raw Rain!!

This morning at 05:30 I was awakened by heavy rain beating on the house.Time to get up anyway, so as I headed for the oatmeal, blink ,off goes the electric. So here we are in the rain,in the dark, and in a cool house. I lit the Aladdin lamp and pondered getting out to the generator in the rain to restore the power. Decided to have a cold breakfast first. Then about 1 1/2 hours later on came the electric. It was already being mentioned that the house was cold all over. When the lites came back on it was easy to see the 63 deg. registering on the thermostats. A stern warning by the Director of Homeland Tranquility was issued at that time. I headed down to the hardware department with my one match. Lucky for me that I have a two week supply of rice/buck left over from last year. About a half hour later the boiler was gaining temperature but did run for several hours before it felt totally comfortable in here.I was hoping to hold out until the end of October but the situation turned from conceptual to political very quickly on me and action was required. I am constantly pleased and amazed how simple and easy it is to manage this small Keystoker boiler.I enjoy this machine and look forward to another year of financial benefit from using it. Thanks Keystoker. Mike p.s. If you still have a cold boiler/stove look it over hard now and avoid startup trouble .A smooth easy startup can really take the heat off so to speak.

I take it the "Director of Homeland Tranquility " is pleased ????

Sounds like you will be getting a warm meal tonight and maybe a little desert ????? :inlove:

Good job.

Yeah I had to fire up the gas infared heaters at work today. Got to get that paint to dry.
And yes I like to work in just a t shirt.......

You are right to point that out Rob,I have got to get hot and go up to the "region"just as soon as I get back from the engine show. The trailer was just inspected and is ready to go. I could wedge the trip in today but don't like trailerin' in the rain if it can be avoided, then there is the Hershey AACA [antique auto] meet this weekend, help a friend all day Monday etc etc. I guarantee it will get done well ahead of any more upper level directives.Right now, since the heat is on the "real heat" is off. :D Mike
