No but an Aprilaire unit as a prefilter followed by a Filtrete Ultra 2200 20" x 20" (Amazon as Lowes does not carry them, is expensive but the prefiltration system makes it last. BTW Dave, removes ALL fungii/molds - hint hint ... Or you can change to hydronics and scoop up all the dirt and viruses in your baseboard/radiator heater unit and recycle constantly ---- look out - incoming..... Even the EPA has worked that one out.

I just installed the jog in the cold air return and am quite pleased that I did not have to cut the 60" straight in between the 45 degrees in order to hit the chalk line in the image. You say luck I say karma (or luck). I had to trim a 12" piece off a 30" piece just before the jog and recreate the features for the cleats, ugh!!! I have gained a whole new appreciation for tin knockers.
Now just 8' straight to the stairs and joists that will be panned for the return on the main floor.
Then finish the remaining 4 registers to the living area just in time for summer.

Last night I framed in where I am going to pan two joists, trimmed duct, and installed (somewhat). Just have to screw it in and stick hole in the floor above.
this last photo shows minimal clearance for door but once I lift the duct and pin it into position I should have probably 1" clearance . phew. that was close almost as if I figured it that way.

and look at that exersize equip. in back you don't use them all as clothes hangers like me... This boys got his shyt together

Been running ductwork all summer and now pretty-much complete. YAHOO!!!! 9 registers heating 1650 sqft. Now in the middle of insulating and itchy . I am really looking forward to the first cold snap to see if this was all worth it and give me the anticipated output (fingers and toes crossed). Attached are images trying to capture more of the ductwork branches.

I couldn't wait any longer!!! Kinda like Christmas morning. 65* in the house and the system is pretty-much complete. Fired it up and went to 73* throughout the house within an hour. Prior to this furnace I had two stokers heating the house with cold spots everywhere but now I have nice even heat throughout. Of course the middle of winter is different but I imagine I will get the same even heat. The 9 registers I installed varied from 300-600 fpm. Some fine tuning will be required through the dampers that were placed in the ductwork but that is what winter is for, fiddling and futzing.
I left a portion of the trunk in the basement un-insulated to get some radiant heat down there and it seems to be working.

Of course it will be 80* here on Friday.

Spoken like a true coal junkie. Went through all that work and couldn't wait to fire it up. You were probably praying for some cool weather just to light the fire !!!!!

So now what? The AK110 is running flawless evenly heating every square foot of my 1650 ranch to 70 deg (buckwheat) although I can't hear it running. 24 degrees this morning and feed rate on coaltrol is running at 7! No more running up and down the stairs feeding the stokers and emptying the ash. No more experimenting with the stokers settings etc.. No more loud room air fan noise. No more concerns about coal dust when adding to hopper. The hopper on the furnace is large enough to place an entire 50 pound bag in it, slice it open, and slowly dump it out with no dust plume.
Quite frankly I am bored. Maybe I need a hand fired to put in the shed? I have never had a hand fired. Do not buy this furnace if you want to if you want to stay busy tending to it.
