I'm installing a new Pocono Leisure Line and it says there are holes in the side of the hopper to which the thermostat should be installed. I don't have any holes on the sides of the hopper. I do have several holes on the backside of the hopper. Where does the thermostat mount and what are the extra little holes on the back of the hopper for?

Thanks!

Thermostat or the CoalTrol Black box? The thermostat itself should be mounted away from the stove, the CoalTrol Black Box can be mounted on the hopper in a convient location so the cords can reach it.

They could have just missed drilling the holes.....

The Coal-trol thermostat (white plastic box with LED) mounts on an interior wall just like a standard heating system, they recommend 20' away from stove. The holes in the back of the hopper are for the control module which is a square electrical box with a black face plate & a on-off switch.

Hi ,
You would want to mount on the left or right side of the back of the hopper. A little slip up in the manual, I'll need to fire the author. The extra holes are for the old adjuster that we no longer use, but still need as replacement.

See if I got this right.

Mount coaltrol unit on side of hopper. There are no holes on the side, so I drill my own?

White plastic thermostat gets mounted far away from stove, makes sense to me.

Thanks everyone for the quick response!!! Hoping to get the stove started tomorrow.

Merry Christmas!!!!

On the back of the hopper facing the back wall use the holes you mentioned. Good luck.

Coaltrol hooked right up to the back of the hopper. Plugged the other two holes which aren't being used. Magic Heat unit came yesterday, just have to get my old oil freestanding stove out, put the new coal stove in and work on the stove pipe fittings..... Then it's going to be a warm Christmas!!!

Thanks again everyone!
