The clips were some spring type in my junk drawer, don't remember where they came from. A something as simple as alligator clips would do the same job.

Hey guys.. Update on the remodel. Gave her a scrubbin and a new paint job.
Last week I posted about what size gaskets to use. I contacted Alaska, got the gaskets and fan, and hooked her all up. Now all I need to do is get her fired up....
Here is a questions for venting..
Im hooking up into an exisiting chimney with a stainless steel flex pipe inserted in the chimney. I had a kero burner previously hooked up. Can I use the existing flex pipe? Will it be able to take the heat? Both need 6" pipe.
Thanks

Look over the data, then call them if you like. Not the busy season yet, AND keep reading on the forum. Find a dealer locally and check them out. Walk quietly, speak softly, and I'll bet you will get many answers. Yup, great deal...now some sanding, priming and testing. Clean up what you can, and refinish after that.

Why was the liner installed ????
Hooking up to the liner will not be a problem. EXCEPT>>>>>>> Most liners only last a few years. Coal burning produces gasses and fly ash that when wet turn into sulfuric acid and will eat up the liner. Do I Need a Stainless Steel Liner for My Chimney?
One of the things you will want to get now would be a manometer so you can monitor the draft of the stove. Using the manometer will help you set up the barometric damper to keep the heat in the stove and not go up the chimney. Also too strong a draft can lead to a hopper fire.
But you got yourself a great little stove there. Do a forum search and you can find tips to get it to operate as efficient as possible. My dad has 2 of them and I use 1 of the basement models in my garage at home.
Any other questions fire away...............

Hooking her up this weekend
However, u have another question. Previously there was a Karo stove hooked up with 5" dia pipe. I called Alaska stoves in bloom and he gave me 2 options.
1. Use the 5" dia
2. Use a 5 to 6" converter bc the top vent cuff is 5 " inside diameter.
Which is better?
