I couldn't help myself.

Pictures of the house are in this thread. Anticipated Coal Consumption Vs. Temp. & Degree Days

Original house is ~900 sq ft per level, addition is about 400 sq ft with a separate basement on its own zone. Old basement is 75-80 most of the time, rest of the house is 71-73 depending on the zone.

ok, did some quik figuring. in the neighborhood of about 1200 pounds or so. 2 story, 1700 sf, no basement, literally no basement, house is on columns, with a plywood skirting around it.Downstairs floor is insulated underneath. Really would like to digout underneath and put a foundatiion in, full on one half, 5 foot or so on other end. That way can move boiler under house use residual radiant to heat from underneath.
Keep T stat set at 70* 24/7

If you ran 4300 pounds of coal thru that in two months, there wouldn't be any snow within a square mile of you

I have burned about 1000 lbs of rice for November. I am heating a 1100 sq ft ranch, plus about 750 sq ft in basement where alaska stoker is placed. Basement about 75 to 80 degrees, living room upstairs at 68 to 70 degrees.

As of last night I have gone through 3200# exactly. That is burning non-stop since October 11th. November I burned 1600#. Wife is laid off so daytime temps are kept at 70 - 72 and night time is 68. So glad I switched to coal when I did...wish I had done it sooner though!
