On our HyFire, it's bascially a plate that moves back and forth, thus just depositing coal on the burn plate as it retracts back, it doesn't really PUSH it like the Keystokers/Harmon's. Seems to burn up much better, giving it more airflow and not tightly packed like the other models that PUSH it. (Jerry, if this is too much info, let me know, I can remove or modify).
This is how it looks. Does that help?

Jerry thanks for the reply even if it took you 2 months. Actually we bought the stove last month and love it.
After burning wood for 30 yrs this is really nice. No coming home to a cold house, or hauling wood ever again.
All because you answered your phone on a Sunday when you came to work just to get the coffee ready for the next day.
Thanks Robin

Robin,
Sorry I didn't answer your post. Dave did a great job with the picture, but since you have the unit then I'm sure you see how it works. I'm usually pretty good about the answers but I really blu it with you. I hope your stove is working great and thanks for your purchase. Also I do remember the call.
Thanks again,
Jer

No problem, that is what is great about these forums...everyone helps each other out...I know you are busy Jerry with the Coal Burning season upon us, and everyone is probably looking into alternatives....

Probably missed because you didn't start a new topic. I split it off.rmuzzy wrote:Jerry thanks for the reply even if it took you 2 months.
