About 1.2 tons since Oct. Maybe a little less. I am heating 2500 sf with hot water baseboard @ 72 in living area and 69-70 in the basement. Mother Nature has been on my side. I am not firing every day. I have a Vermont Castings wood stove in the great room and use that during the mild weather. That being said, I have only used approximately 1/2 cord of wood also.

I just discovered that my Stockton pea (which I have suspected to actually be buckwheat) weighs 42 lbs. per 5 gallon pail, and my Blaschak pea weighs only 38 lbs. per 5 gallon pail, so since I've been burning a 50:50 blend of the two beginning sometime in November, I have just revised my overall coal usage upwards by 5% to correct for my incorrect assumption that all of my coal was 38 lbs. per 5 gallon pail. I'm now up to 5,130 lbs. of coal burned to date.

That's super, and I envy your frugal coal use (and your stove).

However, Delaware, Ohio is about 80 miles south of here and also roughly 60 miles west, and it's closer to Columbus. My youngest daughter lives in Columbus. It's noticeably less cold overall down there vs. up here, and you get far less snow.

I have been burning since late September,3200 sq feet ( 2 story) so far have used 87 - 40 lb bags of rice coal = 1.74 ton, cost approximately $ 435- I haven't figured what my propane bill would have been but I know I have saved lots! :D

No, sorry, but I don't know any welders, or anyone who drives a blue and white F450. Should I? There are roughly 19,000 people in Wadsworth, and I live several miles from the city.

Whew I have surpassed most numbers on here. I have been burning since the end of september and if my math isnt off too much im looking at 3 ton burnt so far. No oil or any other heat source on 2400 square foot maintaining roughly 75 degrees. I guess I would be using less if I dropped the temp but Im still much lower on cost for heat than I would be with other fuel types. A big loss for my home is the god forsakin wind wont stop a blowin!

I am averaging 34 pounds a day the last 78 days so I'm pretty happy. about 900 sq feet but high ceiling on lower floor where stove is. I keep it in the 75 degree +/- zone when Im home. It has been a warm winter here as it has everywhere south of Canada.
