Differences in stoker motors, pusher openings, etc...slightly different tolerances. I know on the older models, there was an adjustment on the back for the stoker (that was orginally hooked to the feed adjustment knob).
They should both be set all the to max feed rate. Not sure if there is any adjustment on yours. Is yours a converted from rheostat, or factory CoalTrol?

Then it may not have any feed adjustment, or something might be worn in the stoker bearing area. Hard to say without removing the stoker plates and inspecting them.

The plates just have a big open slot/hole in them and the bearing just runs around and pushing it back and forth. Maybe one of the slider plates that the bearing runs against is bent or something.

Similar to this pusher below, you can see the small plate on the back where the bearing rides against, on some that can be adjusted in/out to make the hole smaller, therefore, increasing the feed rate.
or just differences in the stokers/gears, etc....if you take the one that is NOT pushing hot coals, you might be able to add a shim or something to make it feed more, then adjust accordlingly the MAX down.

Harley,

My Hyfire II has been like that since day 1. I never really was bothered by it. I just have the max set so that it doesn't push hot coals off the edge of the burner. The 2nd burner is maybe 1/2"- 1" behind the other. It still throws a ton of heat so it doesn't bother me !!!

I think mine were like that, mine does have the adjustment, being converted to a coaltrol, and I put a slightly larger diameter (+1/16 to 1/8" ) from the stock bearing on the slower feed, stoker motor. Just a thought.

Something is off for sure. BOTH burners should be at the same burn area. You can see this on the " both burners running" vid down at my sig.

Just the tolerances in the the stoker mechanisms may not be exactly equal. Get a hold of Dave or Matt at LL, they might be able get you bearing, or at least tell you the stock size. I think I got the bearing from the previous owner Jerry @ LL. Mcmaster, Grainger, Fastenall, etc.. online should have something that might work.

The back edge of the carpet could have gotten bent or maybe a little distorted . You can do like suggested with a shim on the slower one ,or just bend the back edge of the carpet a little right in the center not much is needed . Dave
