This is the third heating season with my Pioneer......perfect. I heat 2100 sq.ft. exclusively with this stove burning 4 tons a year. My family loves it as much as I do!

Just purchased a used 1 year old Pioneer with top vent. Currently using app. 400 gallon of #2 oil to heat the 1st and 2nd floors (1875 sq. ft.) of our 1 1/2 story home, but basement is always cold and bought this to heat it as well as reduce or eliminate our oil usage.

LL's website shows both the SWG-4HDs or the SWG-4HD powerventer. Which is better?

LL's video shows a blocked vent safety switch (WMO-1 200). When you purchase either of the above powerventers, is this switch included or is it a separate item?

Was unable to find a local LL dealer (Washington County, PA) so I tried calling pexsupply.com. After waiting 20 minutes to be connected with a live person, I was cut off as soon as she answered. Are there any better online sources for these items.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Ron

Thanks, but things are a bit tight right now and while I realize they too have to make a profit, I think almost twice as much as the supply houses is a bit high.

If you need the part and can't get it anywhere else, their price would be the market price.
If your can get the part locally, then all the better.

My mistake I thought this was an owner's forum and being a newbie to the market had hoped that someone here knew of a place cheaper than Pex or Patriot Supply.

Ebay has everything but the adaptors, search power venter, alaska stove (fume switch), rheostat.
Power venter aprox $250 hd $350 for stainless, fume switch $100.
Can find used venter cheaper every now and then. Under classifieds in this forum there is a venter for I think $225 or $250 good luck you will love your pioneer.

I have not bought any motor in years (starters/alternators etc.) - we have a local electrical shop and I give them the motor and they rewind it and fix it (bearings/capacitors etc.). Not only do you save a ton of money but we are now recycling. We should only throw away those things that are of no use you know like Obama.

The powerventers we sell are a SWG 4HDS slightly modified for solid fuel . It includes a 6" baro w/tee, WMO-1 saftey switch with a threaded nipple, rheostat box w rheostat and is UL listed with all of our stoves .The UL listing may be important for your zoning and it isn't cheap for the testing . Not as much profit as you may think once everything gets factored in . Thanks ,Dave

Thanks Dave, didn't know that and none of the dealers I have spoken with ever mentioned that anything else was included with the ones they sell.

Thanks again for the info. Hess's Alternative Home Heating in Breezewood had everything in stock that I needed to finish the install. Drive was a bit over 300 miles, but well worth it as he was willing and able to answer all of my questions and offered several suggestions that I'm sure will make the system far more efficient. Highly recommend him to anyone in the area.

Does anyone know of any reason why I can't use two 4" extensions in place of one 8" extension with my SWG-4HDs power venter?
