My basement has tile floor thought. Its an orange kind of color.
When I load my stove I have been getting some coal on the tile and its starting to make a little mess.
I am wondering if it is going to permanently stain the tile or grout? or will it clean up with some fantastic or something after winter?

If it gets into the grout it will probably stain it. The coal dust will get into the voids in the grout and make it look black. Is the grout sealed?

I don't think so.

I'd get some grout sealer and put it to it....couple or three coats....and repeat once each year.

I have a tile hearth with light grey grout that I installed about 15 years ago. I sealed the grout with 2 or 3 coats. after 14 years of wood burning and 1 year of coal burning, the grout remains unstained by anything. I have not resealed since installation. I do think it helps that I tooled the grout to as smooth a finish as I could. :)
