Has Anyone Tried Differnt Thermostats?

Hello Everyone
A friend of mine who lives in PA and has been burning coal for years told me I can run my LL Pioneer stove with any thermostat on the market. Has anyone tried this or is he full of horse doo doo

Please don;'t double post, answered in your other post. But if yours came with a standard 24VAC thermostat, any similar type Digital or programmable should work. I run my Keystoker with a LUX Digital programmable from ValuHomeCenters
