Tennessee is Bituminous coal country. Bituminous is not as popular for stoves as it is for furnaces and boilers.. So I don't think you will find a lot of stoves for burning coal in your state..

I'd look for wood-stove stores and ask them if they have coal burning stoves as well as wood, and if not ask for suggestions on where to find coal burning stoves..

I grew up in Tennessee burning bituminous coal. It is easily found in Middle and East Tennessee, but it might be hard to find it in West TN. In East Tennessee, coal burning is common and good quality coal is available everywhere.
If you do a little searching, you should easily find a stove to fit your needs. Warm Mornings and many similar type stoves were once ubiquitous. You can probably pick up one for a couple hundred bucks. Warm Mornings are not the most beautiful stoves out there, but; when it comes to burning soft coal, they are unmatched for performance. They are simply the best. Look for one of those in good condition.
