I heard part of a radio news broadcast today about the coal shipping troubles in Germany. It seems that it's been a problem that has been worsening for weeks. The coal or lignite barges are being shut down or forced to carry a 20% load due to extremely low water depths. They do have priority over other shipping. Not what they needed in what already was a severe energy crisis.

Wait till the west runs out of water and Hoover dam is forced to shut down

the turbines. It will probably happen next year.

They are ready for solar and wind.

See, I agree with you there. Solar because when all the cadmium leeches out and contaminates the soil, who cares, they aren't growing food there. And windmills would be good, although I would assume half the power they generate would have to be used to cool the generator to prevent the windings from burning up.
