In my case my radiant heat propane system , at 92 per cent efficiency is equal to my coal fuel with a efficiency of 69 % in dollars spent
1.67 for propane and 333. per ton delivered for coal More work with coal easier to fix. Propane easier to deal with and computers and chips sometime fail .
its not easy fooling mother nature.
coal and propane costs are equal in some cases .

Where are you getting that Propane price from? The EIA is reporting $3.25+ in PA.

Coal fan I have a propane condensing boiler.when running it never makes heat greater than 130 degrees. The boiler never shuts down fun’s 24/7 but changes it’s temperature based on outside air it’s a radiant heat system
I get my propane from countryside propane I own a 1000 gallon tank

I'm asking about the price you quoted, for example here is page from NY .gov site listing the prices at $3.57 per gallon and it was updated on 7/11...at least that is what it says.

Is that a contract rate you had locked in from some time ago? I realize the EIA prices I linked to are not up to date but surely they didn't drop over 50% in the past 4 months.

No contract i think anyone could get that price with enough gallonage The one explanation is they Country Side propane bethel state there winter allotment is based on their summer usage so they encourage buying in the summer and i own m own tank. the pipe lines are all over our community meaning we are close to distribution points

This buyers group is in the Capital region of NYS. Gives you a good idea of current pricing and advantage of owning your own tank.
