Nice, I posted this on another thread,
I just got off the phone with a Mr. Robert Pagnotti. He is the sales manager at Jeddo coal. Very nice man. He told me they have bulk coal for $160 per ton currently. They expect a price increase sometime around the end of August. He too said that there is a tight squeeze on the coal market in general. Look them up online if you are interested in getting coal. $160 is a pretty spectacular price. He said his reserves are very limited right now, so I wouldn't be surprised if prices increase sooner than later OR he runs out...

plumberman, that's a beautiful sight and a great price!
I haven't seen Jeddo available in my area for decades. Ages ago, I got about 4 tons of Jeddo highland rice from a brutal basement mining project. As hard as glass and very low ash. I believe that the Hazleton area coal was known for that. Maybe it still is.

Made the call, waiting for word about availability of trucking
If all goes well it will probably be 15 tons of nut, I still have 4 tons left
Should have done it in ‘21 when I could have gotten 23 ton for the same price. Hind sight always 20/20 eh?
Going ahead with adding R38 in the attic and looking for a small mica base burner/ double heater to cut my fuel use to 2 ton a year.
Hopefully we will see the beginings of a turn around after the mid terms and the impeachment

Well I made a very critical error by delaying in making another bulk purchase
Can’t get less than 24 tons out here and at $85.00 a ton for trucking
So that would be an increase from $3200 for 23 tons in 1996 to over $6,000 today
I would have gone for it if I could get 12 tons figuring roughly $250 a ton delivered
Now I need to hurry up and find local bulk or bag picked up for as close to that as I can

Wouldn't you consider it an investment to pay for the 24 tons? I don't assume anything will ever return to prices of even last year. Even if the whole administration was changed over with people bent on fixing our economy, we are so fargone with debt and outsourced product I think our economy would be hard pressed to revert all inflation effects.KingCoal wrote: ↑Tue. Yes you are probably correct, I should just bite the bullet and do it
However if I found a couple people to take some off my hands that would be ok too

Correct my math if I'm wrong but that's only $260/ton delivered? If I had space I'd jump on that, I'm hauling it local and paying $275/ton. Still the FO break even is $1.55/gal. so I'm winning
