Let my stove go out Tuesday the 12th, last fill was Sunday evening end of the main heating system.
The mini-splits will do the heating now, oil burner heat circulators off also.
So 800 gallons of oil for heat and hot water with about 3 ton of coal.
last fire for 21-22

My stove also went cold the same day. It always seems strange not to be tending it at first. Unfortunately for me it will be $$$ oil-fired boiler now. That's also my hot water source year-round. I burned an estimated 65 gal. of oil for the past 2 months of just DHW. Well into the 80's today here. It looks like way cooler weather next week with lows in the 30's.
Great deal that you have those mini-splits! Good time of year for them.

I let my stove burn out about a week ago. My oil burner has been kicking on a bit maintaining heat. With 40/50 degree weather forecast for the next week and possibly longer I had to relight. we’re back to toasty house temps. Nothing beats coal heat!!!

With 5 inches of sloppy wet snow out here today I'm reconsidering lighting it back up.
But with 52 tomorrow, then 56 then 62 is it worth it. Plus I've taken all my coal out of the garage and stacked it up out past the shop and now the ground is sloppy and soft and I'll put ruts in getting to it.
But, I sure am missing it.
