Big job to clean up.... Took a lot of time and equipment...





Another day of distress... Maybe tomorrow will be better...

Had they left the coal there the environmental impact is negligible. Depending on the material used to build the RR bed, pound for pound that could pose a bigger environmental impact.

Like creosote preservative leeching out of wooden railroad ties.

I looked into getting creosote for preserving wooden framing of some antique cars I was restoring, like they were originally coated with. It's so toxic I needed a special license to buy and handle it.

No one has ever mentioned my needing a license for using coal.
