Cleveland Cliffs announced the closing of their Mountain State Carbon coke plant in Follansbee WV sometime after April 1. They use iron briquettes and scrap to make steel and apparently have no need for coke anymore. Another nail in the coffin of bituminous coal.

They closed Tonawanda NY coke and also Erie Coke they were both owned by

the same company.
