So I just received a new gadget today.. This is an Inkbird temperature sensor that pairs with my smart phone via Bluetooth. I have it set to record the outside air temperature at one minute intervals. While I'm away from the sensor it will store the data then download to my phone when I'm home.

Basically, I wanted something that would give me daily averages. I'm hoping it averages the 1 minute intervals and not just the high and low of the day.. So far it seems to be averaging the intervals. It also seems to be pretty accurate according to stations around me that are within about 5 miles.

I currently have it hanging under an eve, but would like to get it away from the house a little bit. I put it outside about an hour ago so its likely still adjusting to ambient temperature.

Below are some screen shots.

I figured you guys tracking HDDs might find it useful... :)

Last night I put the sensor under an eve but up tight to the siding of the house. Today when I got home it was reading ~20 degrees, which was weird because the stations around me were reading 16-18 degrees. I then moved it out under the pavilion about 30 feet away from the house. It dropped down to 16.5 degrees. Must be the house radiates a little bit of heat I guess..

Checked it again, its hovering between 16.75 and 17.25 degrees.. My old faithful 3+ decade alcohol gauge is showing a flat 16 degrees but I've always noticed that one to read a little cool.

I also reset the interval to 10 minutes. 1 minute was kind of ridiculous lol..

Does it store the log, and for how long? Can you download it, and what format?

Yes it does.. it stores up to 30,000 data points on the device which can be downloaded to the app at will. They can also be exported from the app by CSV file..
