ok guess iwill stat\rt here i have the ds 1500 i want to put it in my basement ,but my ceiling is only about 6,6 to the floor joist and im concerned about to much heat rising to them at the joist ,would a false metal ceiling above it be safe or still to much direct heat to be safe ?cold air returns and register already thought of but abain ds i think recomends about 54 inches from ceiling hmmmm .any thoughts or ideas guys if the ds is to big what to look for will be next in line thanx guys in advance !!!!!!!!!!!

36 and 3\4 is the height and yes it should be moved to its own thread damd if i know how !!

I guess you have to find ds specs. Seems like 3 ft of clearance would be ok.
