Wasn’t sure if the fluid could somehow evaporate over the summer or not. I really don’t see how it could evaporate, but mine is not on zero.
It got bumped out of level which was easy enough to readjust but the fluid is off. I suppose someone could have messed with it for it to not read zero, but it doesn’t seem likely.
Do you guys have to empty the manometer, recalibrate the knob to center, and then refill it each season?

I have to add fluid every 3 or 4 years? You can adjust the knob all the way up and just remember how low it is, add that in your head to what it reads, that works too. Add tiny amounts at a time when you do refill it. Empty it, never.

It is a form of U tube with one end open to the flue and the other to the room, so yes it does evaporate over time. Add just a little oil at time.

Wasn't sure if the fluid was evaporative or not. Seems others have run into the same thing I have.
Thanks for the input.

haven't put any fluid in it for a long time. just have to recalibrate/Zero it before firing up each season. I think it does evaporate a little bit over time.
