Hello all,
I am writing today regarding the DVC500.
As most know the DVC500 has been discontinued since Harman sold the coal line to Alternate Heating Systems.
Over the past year I have been in contact with them (Jeff) who related there is much talk about bring it back to production.
Problem:
Due to new environmental standards, AHS would have to spend $$ to have the new stove approved by UL.
AHS needs feedback from the DEALERS that there is an interest in the DVC500.
A pre-order of 20 units would suffice the cost of production.

In summary-
If anyone would like to buy one please contact your dealer or call AHS directly at 717-987-0099 and speak to Jeff and express your interest in the stove.
By doing so and bringing it back into production the cost of parts, especially stove pipe, would be drastically reduced.

Thank You

Bought a used DVC500 this past summer, cleaned the stove completely and tested everything, found the combustion fan was running backwards, swapped the motor around and it’s running perfect, installed and have been running the stove now for 3-4 months without any problems, just routine cleanings, it has been set at 1-1 1/2 feed rate and 1-1 1/2 on stove temperature keeps the house from 70 to 78 degrees depending on outside temperatures, using about a 5 gal bucket of coal a day !!!

We have two running DVC-500's. Nice little stoves. They have been burning every winter for past 12 years. You take care of them, and they'll take care of you. Given a choice, I would buy them again.
Sure would be great to see them back in production. Yep, those exhaust pipes sure are expensive, would be nice to see the price be slashed on those.

I agree !!! I’d like to find a 45 degree exhaust pipe so I can angle my stove better since it’s setup in a corner, or an adapter from square to round flex pipe so replacement parts would be readily available
