Yes... Full blown buffoonery happening here, but oh so pretty and that sulfur aroma, I'm in heaven.... I am a very sick man that needs to get his AA running..
What you see here is 4 measuring cups of pea size in the burner pot, fed in by hand. I've got the combustion air setting down to a minimum and this thing is throwing heat like mad

of course not.
Once I noticed the inside wall of the fire pot starting to glow a little I turned the combustion air down further
The combustion air cools the grate similar to a flat bed stoker.
It's fine, under control, I dont think any harm will come from it, I hope..

I should a warn though, putting coal in the hopper of a wood pellet stove would most likely be catastrophic for the auger and/or auger motor, so I wouldn't try it.

Hummm,,,,... Yes, we have seen this type of "recreational coal burning" before. This can only mean one thing, full blown "Stoker Madness" has set in.
