This comment deserves a bump. Three (3) hours. Wow!
Had a guy ask me this the other day. Is there any pellet stoves certified to also burn rice coal? I know there are multi-fuel “type” stoves burning pellets, pits, and corn, but I’m not aware of any burning coal.
I don’t know too much about pellet stoves or which are the best.

A conventional wood pellet stove has a burn pot for the pellet fuel to fall into and burn, but no real way of removing ash. Being that coal has about 10x the ash as wood, it wouldn't take long for the burn pot to be overwhelmed with ash, even if the auger could handle feeding the coal.
