Since my post was initially about Alt Energy cars ( or trucks in my case) The solution for me is C(*)G it can be gas, hydrogen,CO, really the car shouldn't care with closed look systems. We can dig it, refine it, generate it from Nuke, Wind, Farts, Algae, Waves and get it into the national grid and power our cars.
It seemed like we were there, but the looney toons started their Henny-Penny Co2 obsession and here in NY for example the state is abandoning it's cng fleet and the stations in rural areas are abandoned. I like electric vehicles, but they are a great niche car. Sadly the arguments are often about the "best" rather then a blend of vehicle solutions.

On another note I was looking at getting a home compressor for Nat gas to CNG. Turns out at a $1.60 a GGE. I should be filling tanks at the CnG station and hooking a low pressure regulator and powering the house as it's cheaper than from the gas co.
