Hello rewoodworking, the best way to get the coal burning ball rolling is to answer a few questions about your home and current heating system.

1. How big is your house?
2. How well is it insulated? (How old is the home?)
3. How is it currently heated? (baseboard hot water, forced hot air, etc)
4. If you currently have a boiler or furnace, what is its BTU rating?
5. Is your current heating system capable of keeping your home warm?
6. Do you have a chimney that could be used for a coal burning appliance?
7. How much money can you afford to spend on the coal setup?

Also, what is your physical location? Do you have access to anthracite?

Take some time & read through some threads here. They will answer all your questions, but you need to take the time to do some research.
