Coal in Ohio
Both stoves are very good. I would look at the specs that are important to you. (hopper size, footprint, T-stat) You can't go wrong with either. The owner of Leisure Line frequents this forum so that may sway you.

Their are no dealers for Leisure in ohio. However, I've been speaking with a dealer named Victor in Michigan and he has been so helpful and seems to be a great guy to deal with. I just want to make sure I can find Anthracite coal in bags at a reasonable price here in ohio before I purchase it. If not, then I guess i'll have to go with a Pellet stove as it is plentiful here in Ohio but I'm not convinced of pellet BTU's and prices for pellets seem to be erratic...I do have to figure into the cost of having the unit shipped from Pa. to Michigan and then me driving 3 hours from Oh to Mi. to pick it up...John

I don`t know how far you are willing to travel but there is a store in Kingsville that carries both keystone & alaska & bagged coal, also an amish man near Pierpoint that sellsstoves & coal. I`m sure that you`ll be able to find others also, just keep looking & asking. Good Luck! Denny

Thanks Denny, I'm not sure where kingsville is but I was over in Amish country yesterday looking at stoves in middlefield. It was only about 1 hr from me and they had coal, but none bagged and I don't have a coal bin and prefer not to carry coal into my home in a bucket...

Thanks ken, I did speak to ellis and he does have rice coal which is what the leisure hearth takes. He sells it for $255.00 per ton and I guess that's the best price I'll find here in ohio. John

$250.00 a ton or $320.00 a pallet which I belive is 2400lbs and he's charging me $25.00 to bring 4 pallets to my house...I thinks that's a heck of a deal since I'm over an hour away...
