Great article! From some of the reader comments on the article, it was revealed that 3 out of the 4 Proteus class coliers built were lost at sea and not found. The only survivor, Jupiter, was converted into the first US aircraft carrier, CV-1 USS Langley. The Jupiter wasn't used for coaling duty very much. Mostly cargo and troop transport.
