USS Cyclops just disappeared 100 years ago. At the time, it was the largest Navy ship.

Great article! From some of the reader comments on the article, it was revealed that 3 out of the 4 Proteus class coliers built were lost at sea and not found. The only survivor, Jupiter, was converted into the first US aircraft carrier, CV-1 USS Langley. The Jupiter wasn't used for coaling duty very much. Mostly cargo and troop transport.
